PolyDowel™ 3/8 in is a CFRTP tapered plate dowel qualified as a direct structural replacement for 3/8 in steel tapered plate dowels in concrete slabs 5–8 in thick. Full-scale joint testing demonstrates equivalent load-transfer performance and service-range stiffness at approximately 20% of the weight, with no corrosion risk.
Compatible with industry-standard 3/8 in tapered plate dowel pocket formers. A reusable cavity former system is in development.
